Blue on Monday

Today is Monday and in keeping with "Blue Monday Meme" this post will have lots of blue in it! As I said yesterday, from now on, there will be new jewellery on every post, including posts with memes.

Here is a photo of a place you may have seen before if you are aquainted with Anna's blog. It was a Blue Monday-post and the photo was taken earlier in the fall of 2009. It's our neighbor's blue garden furniture.

And now, here is the same scene, taken just a few days ago in February 2010!

And here are the chairs again, from an other angle. They certainly are buried in snow!

But we are not finished yet. Here are some cool blue and white necklaces that might be nice to wear in spring and summer: The first three are stretch necklaces with glass beads, Czech pressed glass and Chinese cat's eye glass beads, millifiori (a thousand flowers) glass beads of unknown origin, and some Chinese porcelain beads with good luck symbols on them. I am also using clear seedbeads and clear elastic cord.

This fourth necklace is strung on soft beading-wire with a sterling silver toogle clasp. But I am wondering if the soft drape maybe wasted on the daggers. I have been thinking about trying memory-wire. Does anyone have any thoughts about this? What if I redo it on memory-wire?

And finally, here are some blue earrings, but I will have more earrings on a separate post very soon. I made a pair of earrings for the necklace with the Chinese porcelain beads, but forgot to include them in this photo. Sorry! They will turn up later.

Happy Blue Monday!
Anna

What a difference mother nature makes on us. The blue lawn chairs look pretty even in the snow. All your jewelry is very nice. You do an excellent job.

I really like the blue/white necklace!
You really have a lot of snow where you live, but I guess you're used to it :)
Normally, this area where I live is not known for snow, but this winter we have so much of it--it's hard to manage sometimes. I'm looking forward to spring!

This has been a rough winter for all of us. Happy Blue Monday!

The blue lines really show up against the white snow.

I don't know anything about making jewelry so I can't give you any advice....

I am just back from a very cold walk with the dogs and am enjoying the Blue Monday list!

Those are great contrast shots - but I really prefer the one without snow! And I love your earrings - that's such a gorgeous shade of blue. Happy Blue Monday!

I almost did a contrast post this am too. It meant I would have to go out in a snowstorm to get my photo. I decided not to do that!!!HA!

Your jewelry is lovely. I am amazed at the beautiful jewelry shown on the blogs I sometimes visit. Yours is definitely very artistic.

it is amazing that the blue and white chairs seem so icy while the jewelry's blue and white seem so summery... the difference is remarkable.

Hi!
you asked about which pieces to list...how about the necklace #3 - it would be great with matching earrings!

Dear Christine (xinex),
I have had a hard time leaving a message to you, so I will just leave it here:
To answer your question about the blue earrings. No, they are not lapis. They are just dark cobolt blue pressed glass (the fluted beads) and the other beads are cat's eye beads made in China. The smaller beads are Czech glass beads and the seed beads are from Japan and the Czech Republic.

I do have a small amount of lapis chips and round beads that I have not yet decided what to do with.

Would you like to buy a par of earrings with lapis stenar? I only have sterling silver findings. If you want gold, you should tell me and I can order it.

Otherwise, if you check on my shops every now and again you will see new items being listed. (You can get to my shops by clicking on the different links on the icons and widgets.) I always write exactly what the materals are. And you can be sure that if I use those bits of lapis, I will certainly state it loud and clear.
Thank you for asking.
Best wishes,
Anna
