PhotoHunt Theme # 194 "Lick"

This week's PhotoHunt Theme is "Lick". I was hoping to get a shot of Cajsa Cat licking water running from the tap in the bathroom.

But the best I could do is her licking water from a little blue cup. Taking pictures of your pets takes time and patience. I admire those who really can do this well!
Happy Weekend!
Anna

P.S.
If you live in Sweden, please read yesterday's post about the fire at Katthemmet Kompis outside of Nybro. Many cats died, but those who survived need food and other supplies.

Om Ni bor i Sverige, vänligen ta en titt på gårdagens inlägg om branden på Katthemmet Kompis utanför Nybro. De behöver hjälp. Tack!

Dear RNSANE,
Thank you for visiting! Yes, Cajsa is very special to me. She does a lot of interesting things that I never can take a picture of!

I thought this week's Photo Hunt would be a cinch for those with pets but after reading your comments, maybe not! :D

It is tough getting a good shot of a cat. They can move so fast. Without a top-knotch camera, you cant' keep up. I've tried.

Cajsa very much reminds me of my Sammy :)
Yes, I only managed once to get a shot of Sammy drinking from the tap. He never sits still! Haha.

I read the devastating post on the fire at the cat shelter. I don't even want to imagine the agony of the poor cats that died there :(
I hope the remaining cats find shelter/homes very soon. Sending my prayers.

hugs,

Duni

Yes, it's quite difficult for humans to understand why their cats won't perform on cue. ;-)

Mine is up:

BTW, my human and I were very upset to learn of the shelter fire in Sweden. We are in the US and wish there was some way people in other countries could help. For now, I am sending healing licks purrs to all the rescued kitties who are recovering.

Nice picture! BTW, yes, mine were totally innocent. Just me and my family acting silly.

it's usually pure luck to get "usable" photos of our pets. aside from luck, patience is essential.

It's a charming picture of your kitty, nonetheless. :-)

Very upsetting to see that next post about the shelter fire. I hope they're getting the help they need.

But still, you're able to have a good shot of your cat. :)
Happy new year!

What a pretty cat. I sometimes miss having a cat around the house but I don't think that my dog would take to another animal in the house very well.

Oh cat is licking cool...Good choice for the theme. Happy hunting....

Well, your cat was more co-operative than mine! And she is beautiful! :)

Amazing how you see them doing it all the time until you want to get a shot of it. Then "Neva Happen Charlie!"

Have a great 2010. You can check out my licks here.

Oh, she is lovely! It IS hard to photograph pets! I end up taking tons and tons of shots, only to ditch most of them. Add in that they now hate to have their photos taken. Ugh!

Cajsa is delightful. look at its thick shiny fur. The shot of Cajsa wit the blue container is so cute

I love the picture! You're right, it's so hard to get a good shot of a pet!

I came by to welcome you to SITS! We're happy to have you with us!

aww...that's really sad...I hope those cats that survived the fire will find a good home.

It's very hard to get photos of animals but this one is so cute! You captured her purrfectly!

I have trouble catching cats in good photos because they are either just laying around (boring!) or hopping around too much to catch without a blur! I don't know HOW Daisy learned to be so cute in photos! And I'm so sorry to hear about the fire in the kitty shelter...I love cats so much the idea of any getting hurt is very upsetting.

i really agree with you..it's not easy to take pics of pets/animals. They can't just stay in one place for a long time unless they are sleeping.

Daisy said...

Oh Cajsa, that looks very refreshing!

She is beautiful. Is that the cup she always drinks out of? I have a little award for you. Stop on by. I need to look into photo hunters. It looks hard, but I got a new camera so I'm ready to use it.

Got you linked. Thanks for the heads up. I had no idea you had links down at the bottom right until you said something. Would you rather do a triangle thing? You could take off the link here and put one in over with Sara Cat. I'm told this can raise you higher in the Technoratti rankings.
